Community One Enhancement

The Community One Enhancement account is uniquely suited to meet the needs of service-oriented non-profit organizations. Eligibility: To be eligible, the organization must provide the following:

Relief of Poverty - Provides services and programs for those in financial need, distressed or suffering or experiencing social disadvantage. Provides assistance to the sick and dying, disabled persons, the homeless, victims of crime, rehabilitation of young offenders & parolees and senior citizens.

Improved Health and Welfare - Primary purpose is the advancement of health & welfare and its programs and services are directed toward approved and recognized health and welfare programs. It is operated on a not - for - profit basis. The eligible organization may provide programs which are dedicated to the cure and prevention of disease, helping the sick and the dying and the improvement of underprivileged social groups such as children, the aged or the disabled.
Examples: Hospital Auxiliary, Canadian Cancer Society, Organizations dedicated to the disabled (eg. C.N.I.B.)

Advancement of Education - Primary purpose to provide programs that are geared to scholastic and vocational training for individuals and it leads to a recognized diploma or certificate. The programs advance a recognized field of knowledge which leads to an accredited degree, diploma or certificate.
Examples: Public & Roman Catholic Schools (Elementary & Secondary), Accredited Colleges and Universities

Development of Youth - Amateur sporting leagues or associations administering activities solely for children or youth development. It is operated on a not-for-profit basis. It is primarily dedicated to supporting amateur athletes under the age of 19 years. A licensee organization must be an association or club which governs numerous teams, ages or expertise levels. Individual teams involving a narrow age group and small number of participants are too narrowly focussed and are not eligible. Access to the sporting program must be made available to the community as a whole, without discrimination. There must be continuity to the organization and it must have a demonstrated record of providing services considered charitable.
